I'll look into it, thanks!

You wont see the crank seal in this guide, but its in the front engine cover!

Also- DONT FORGET TO PUT ENGINE TO TDC
Gaskets! I am guessing replacing all the gaskets is a good idea. So valve cover gasket, VCT gasket, and other gaskets I'm forgetting. I apologize if I've overlooked it and missed where you said what gaskets to change but if anyone could fill me in that would be awesome!

Thank you that was super helpful! Now what about the actual valve cover gasket? I am under the impression it's called a rocker arm cover gasket.. and for the solenoid housing gasket PN: 3L3Z-6C286-AA It only comes up with a LH application. Are the solenoid housing gaskets interchangeable between LH and RH?

Not sure on the numbers, will have to pull the invoice to check, but I think there is a left and a right.

TAKE NOTE******* these are parts numbers for my 2005 5.4 Lariat, other years may have subtle differences in some parts so make sure you go to http://www.fordparts.com/ and plug in your VIN #

Hello everybody! First time posting on this site so i hope yall get alone with me haha well anyways, my 07 f150 xlt started ticking a long time ago and now it has 140xxx miles and i was wondering if i just buy the timing belt kit (ebay.com /itm/400548526126?nav=SEARCH&sbk=?) will it fix the tick? My truck has the tick from start up and sometimes when im going on low mph and rpm is below 1000 my truck shakes real bad and its imbarrasing especially in a drive thru. Also how much would just changing the belt cost? Or has anyone in the dallas/fort worth area attempted this? Any advise is appreciated and if you need to ask more questions feel free to ask, thank you!

Sounds like you have multiple problems. Chain tensioners for the start up rattle, lash adjusters for the persistent tick, likely bad followers, and possibly as cam phasers. VCT solenoid or two is also a possibility. Probably $1000 in parts and at least $1500 in labor assuming you have good oil pressure. If these engines weren't so notoriously problematic I'd tell you that you're better off buying a used engine from a scrap yard.

that is almost certain the lash adjusters and followers. Buy an automotive stethoscope from ebay (about $10) and probe your valve cover. If it's your lash adjusters the noise will be clearly audible with the stethoscope. The passenger side is usually the noisiest in most trucks. Also if you get under the truck you will hear the tapping get louder right by the exhaust elbow. You may even be able to hear the tapping from the exhaust because the metal knocking will resonate down the exhaust past the muffler.
