Timing Question
Hey Guys, alittle help please. I tore my engine down last night for phaser/chain/ guide replacement: my question is at TDC the key on the crank is not at 12 o'clock but closer to 10 0r eleven o'clock. I have already pulled the chains and swaped phasers. Should I align chain marks from here and if I need to "tweek" the cams/phasers to align??
Thanks in advance and this post has been most helpful.

Just be sure the time marks all line up when chains r installed. If u need to tweek.. very very little .. I had to tweek the pass side cam when installing the passenger side chain / phaser when aligning the dowel pin on camshaft

Hey guys, as some of y'all know I replaced a lot of things under the hood just recently in January. The main things were the Cam phasers. Well I learned my lesson with Dorman parts when the passenger side phaser failed with less than 1,200 miles on it. The phaser spring had sprung and was causing my truck to sound like a diesel. I replaced them both now with 2 genuine ford cam phasers and she is running like a top EXCEPT now she has a P0345-Camshaft position sensor A Circuit (Bank2) code that she is throwing at a constant. I have replaced the sensor and it is plugged in, but I have no clue as to what could be wrong with it. Does anyone have any idea as to what it could be? She is running so great that there is no way that it could be a timing problem. I can't help but think it might be wiring, but I don't know how to go about troubleshooting and testing for the problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, Thanks for the help. Got a little scared I guess! lol. All timimng marks lined up perfect. After opening the timing cover the pass side chain guide was trashed busted. Only pieces visible where the pieces held in place by the mounting bolts. After timing the driver side marks I put on the cam (paint marker) lined up perfect. The pass side pen marks are about 10 deg off (off original cam pen marks). I think thats how much it jumped time. It was running like dog crapolla.
Any hoot, back to reassembly... hasn't ran yet so I'll know soon enough if have F*** up or not.
Again thanks guys.

Be sure to hold pedal to floor before starting it .. ( will turn over but not start ) will prime the tensioners with oil ... when u r ready to start it. U will cringe ..haha. I did 2x times in less than a year

I installed the cloyes timing kit with the guides and tensioners, new vct solenoids, new dorman phasers, all new gaskets on anything I removed, cleaned out the oil pan as well as the oil pump intake tube. I even did the plugs, water pump, fan clutch and topped it all off with a new belt. I visually checked the camshaft and lifters and rollers, all looked good. Took about 4 days but No more noise! My truck soundss great! The only problem is that this will not not fix a problem that I thought was related to all the phaser issues. I should have replaced the oil pump! The reason I finally tore into this was not for the noise, which I've put up with for years. It was because the truck recently started to not idle normally. Anytime it would get warmed up and come down to a stop from being on the interstate it would almost choke out and knock until I feathered the gas pedal. I was told at the dealer that it was VCT problems. IT STILL DOES THIS! It also makes sounds like its knocking and out of control on startup in the morning. Can Anyone help? Is my motor finished at 160,000 miles because of low oil pressure not controlling the vct solenoids as i suspect or can I replace the oil pump and save my motor?
