Default a few magnaflow questions

Im looking to finally get rid of that stock 32" waist of steel. Like most I want that rumble but i do a lot of highway driving and don't want the drone. After a lot of looking around I'm almost certain a 18" magnaflow fits the bill. I have a maggie on my jeep and love the difference it made. My truck is a 04 lariat 4 door with the 5.4, I like the stock look so I'm just looking to do a muffler swap and keep the stock pipe. My question is witch 18 incher will swap out the easiest? I guess I need the 2.5 si/so 2.5, but will the offset/offset or the center/offset fit better? Also the 4 * 9 or 5 * 8 oval? Thanks for any help, tight lines.

I went with the 5x8x18 si/so in 3 inch. Tail pipe is 3" with a 3.5" tip. Think one side was center and other side was offset for the configuration.

This is the exact same thing i'm doing. My truck has the factory chrome tip so i don't need to change it. I just wanna make it a little louder with the stock look.

Magnaflow 12288 18" muffler no drone
Mine is a 3" inlet dual outlet with a rear cat delete, but you will get a sense of the 18" sound...

First fire up:

No drone cruising:

Considering I'm going from a 3inch inlet to a dual 2 1/2 outlet that adds up to 5" of flow out through the muffler, I'd say yeah it's gone flow more noise and exhaust gasses then a single 3" outlet... I did a single 3 inch in 3 inch out on my bronco and cut it off for a dual exit muffler because it wasn't loud enough for me either.
When I did my exhaust, I painstakingly researched what would make this truck sound bad *** yet residentially compliant, without annoying drone. I believe I got exactly what I was looking for....

I had my muffler clamped so when it wears out (or I want a different sound) I can just slide a new one right in there in like 10 minutes...

I'm surprised that the Magnaflow seems rather quiet. Is there any way to install these mufflers without welding?

Yeah, In fact I recommend you don't weld it in so you can change the muffler out when it starts to rot or wear out..(and it will, with all the water in our gas these days)

I pull a few pretty large boats for a 150, I have read a 3" can affect back pressure, is that something I have to worry about?
