Question Few 04 F-150 questions...

Hi all, as you can see I'm new to the forums. Recently bought a 2004 Lariat 4x4 extended cab. I come from the world of coupes and super bikes and this is the first pickup truck I ever owned. So, I am kind of lost when it comes to lifts, tire sizes, some part names or technical words, and other stuff.

Few questions...
1. I want to fit 20x9 KMC XD798 (aka Addicts) with some 35-12.50R20. Which offset would I need 18 or -12 and would I need spacers?

2. Can I fit the combo mentioned above without lift? And if not, what would be the minimum lift required (I do plan on lifting the truck maybe 4" - 6"), but can't get both at the same time so I was wondering if I could get tires first since I will be needing a new set pretty soon.

3. Where can I buy a set of fog light wires? Mine are loose from the plug and won't turn on.

4. I want to change the DRL/turn signal and backup bulbs to LEDS (3156 & 3157) and I was wondering which bulb would you guys recommend. Ie. http://www.gorecon.com/products.php?p_cat=61 - they have 2 shapes.

5. Last but not least.....I've read like 5 million threads regarding the spark plug issue on the 5.4L 3v and I am considering replacing the engine with a newer 5.4L 3v. Would the exhaust from the 2004 fit on the new engine? I am planning to buy the Roush Off-Road dual rear exit and would hate to buy it twice lol.

Sorry for all the questions and a million thanks in advance.

I personally would not recommend wheel spacers...if you can find any. Spacers mean having to install new and longer wheel studs. I would go with atleast a 10" wide wheel with a higher negative offset if wou want that wide look. My wheels are 18/10's with -24 offset and the tires stick out about 2" from the edge of the wheel well.

As for the fog light wires/connector, I would talk to your local Ford delaer parts depot, and see what they can cook up.

Dunno bout the LED's

And for the 5.4 exhaust...as long as your truck does not have a 5.4 2V, it should fit fine. You might have to adjust it when replacing the motor. Meaning loosen all the the bolts and nuts, and "retro-fit" the exhaust first, then tighten all of them starting from the front to the back.

Thanks Jake. I guess I could try them on before getting rid of the oem wheels.

And yes Cnorth, that's the look I'm trying to get, but they only come 9" wide and offset offered is either 18 or -12. Thanks for the responses.

I guess I'm only missing some feedback regarding the LED bulbs.

Can't speak about the wheels or lift, but I had a reverse light out, and replaced both with a pair of these: http://www.gorecon.com/product.php?pk=216

A little pricey, IMO, but worth it. They look great. I'll eventually replace everything with LEDs.

I'd be interested in the answer to the engine swap question. I would imagine that it would, or would be pretty close. I mean as long as either the old headers bolt up to the newer engine OR the new headers meet the exhaust in the same place as the current one, I don't see why you couldn't.

I just installed my Roush exhaust on Monday. You'll love it.

I know an answer. In order to fit 35's you'll need at least a leveling kit. It's all mentioned in the tire fitment post, stickied to the top of the forum. Here https://www.f150forum.com/f4/tire-wh...04-08-a-24510/ Sounds like it'll be a good looking setup.

Shoot, if you spend the money to buy a new engine and new exhaust you might as well go with some headers .
