Default Fan clutch nut size to large

Installed new engine in a 2008 ford f150. The old fan clutch nut is to large for the new one on the new water pump. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?
Get the correct part for the new engine/water pump. Contact whomever sold you the new engine if it was a rebuild or reman.

is it possibly just the wrong pulley on the water pump?

I agree - I'd contact whoever you bought the motor from and see what they say

there were two different water pump model (diff fan clutch hub sizes). The cheaper pump uses smaller hub (about 50% cost of other pump).

as far as I know you Have a few choices: change water pump to match fan clutch, buy new clutch to match pump, OR search for an adaptor from small pump/hub to larger existing clutch (not sure if this exists).

Yeah I think I would probably just get the proper water pump that's probably the cheapest and easiest route they go for around $40

Thanks for the info. I purchased from Ford dealer and after contacting them they agreed it is the wrong water pump and will replace under the engine warranty.
