Default Factory 7 blade trailer harness---No tail lights

I have the factory 7/4 blade trailer light harness. My brake/turn has power to the 7 blade connector, but no tail light power. I've checked the harness, the ground pigtail, but can't figure it out. Wires and connections all look good. Tail, brake, turn, reverse all work on the truck itself. I have a non factory brake controller, and it has power. The 4 pin plug has never worked, I've always used the 7 blade. It's definitely a Ford harness, has Ford part number on it. Any ideas?

If I remember correctly the towing lights are on a different circuit than the lights on the truck. Therefore there is a different fuse for tow lights than regular. I could be wrong. Try looking at fuses. Might be just a popped one.

Well...I hate to admit it, but it was a fuse. It NEVER occurred to me that the trailer lights and tail lights would be on separate fuses. Every truck I've owned prior to this one, I've installed trailer light harnesses in and they were run thru the vehicle tail light harnesses with quick connects that go between the light and harness. If you blew a fuse, it was the tail light fuse. This was a new system for me. Thanks for the help. At least I'll know now. I've towed my 3 different trailers a million times with this truck and this was the first time I noticed the tail lights weren't working. Headache relieved! Thanks again.

They've been doing this for quite a while now. The idea being that a short in the trailer doesn't wipe out the truck lights. I learned this lesson the "hard way" as well about 10 years ago while helping a neighbor.
