Default F150 FX4 Sudden Window Issue

Just purchased a used 2005 F150 and everything worked except for the driver side door lock. Wouldn't unlock passenger side. A few days later, the window switches are lit up, but do not open windows. Yes, I checked and rechecked the window lock. The dealer will fix it, but a day to diagnose, another day or two to fix. Any ideas how I can diagnose and/or fix so I don't have to deal with the dealer and just send him a bill? Thanks!

Could be there is a broken wire in the door jam. Or sometimes it's just the contacts on the switch need to be cleaned. Both common things with these trucks. Lots of info on this website about it.

And if it takes them a day for diag and another day or two to fix, you need to find a new place to have your repairs done. That's crazy.

Thanks. I'm going to start with cleaning the contacts. But just tested window switches all around (passenger and rear) and nothing.

May be the master panel on the drivers door.. it will not allow other window switches to work. Known issue with our years

Did not know that. Thanks! Is there an electrical tester that I can use to check from the panel? I popped it out earlier today and it looked pretty clean.

When you popped it out you should have cleaned the contacts. Even if they looked clean it doesn't mean they are. Worth a try as it's easy and free.

Yeah I +1 cleaning the contacts. If you're getting illumination to the switches then you haven't blown a fuse. My rear left window wouldn't roll up or down via the passenger switch and I cleaned/sanded the contacts then coated it with petroleum jelly and it works like new.
