Default F150, 2WD front brakes

Ok, so finally got around to doing the front brakes. After lots of research decided to go with the 2 piece upgrade kit to replace the oem rotors with built in bearings. No local parts store had anything that fit. Ordered the slotted/dimpled kit with pads from brake performance w/ black zinc and new spindle nut. The cost was less than oem smooth.

Ended up buying the 3/4" torque wrench to get the 300lb torque on the spindle nut. Old set up came off pretty easy. Old bearing was starting to grind also. New hub went on perfect, no issues, torqued to specs. New rotor, pads fit perfect. Wow what a difference. No bearing grinding or brake dust so far. Now on to the rears. The new 2 piece setup allows just rotor replacement in the future.

Yeah I was surprised how easy it was to change the brakes when a buddy and I did mine. Rotor depot has a discount code just for us f150 owners since brakes seem to be such a problem.

Hopefully you flushed the brake system fluid when you were there... its a required maintence task
