Default Exhaust opinions

As I am planning my mods, I was searching for good exhaust systems to use. I don't want something very loud, but I do want a strong "manly (as carid.com put it)" tone. I listened to the magnaflow and it sounded like a law mower! Flow master sounded much better. Any useful ideas, and real world experience here? I didn't find much anywhere else...

About 4weeks a go I had my exhaust installed I wanted the same thing I want it to sound mean with out the noise in the cab. I decided on Flowmasters 40 series si/do it sounds great on start up and at crushing speeds you can here it in the cab but its not overwhelming. I love it

Magnaflow sounds like a lawn mower?? R u sure u were listening to a Magnaflow becasue my truck does not sound like a lawn mower at all? And flowmaster would be the last muffler I would ever put on my truck.

I didn't think so! But check out carid.com and see what I'm saying. It's odd.

Well I'm here to tell you and this is from someone who has a Magnaflow muffler on there truck currently that it does not sound like a lawn mower by any means. Go to YouTube and find some video clips of Magnaflow but damn anything other than flowmaster (or should I say blowmaster).

My exhaust setup:
5.4L
Pacesetter LT headers
3" ORY pipe
18" Magnaflow
3" piping from the collectors all the back to a 6" exhaust tip.

Does flowmaster have a bad rap?
