Exhaust Manifold Leak help
Good Evening,
So I noticed couple of days ago what sounded like an exhaust manifold leak on the passenger side truck. I take it down to a local shop and the mechanic comes back telling me that the gasket is bad on it. He also tells me that the passenger side cats are running way hotter than normal and they are creating more back pressure on the engine and that is why the gasket is bad. The shop says they can not fix it because it is the exhaust manifold and cats, so he calls a shop that can and quotes me at 1100.00 all total. I am no master mechanic so I just wanted to get an opinion from some of y'all and see if that seems like a right price. The truck is a 2006 F150 XLT 5.4 liter 4x4. Thanks for the help and input.

If thats for new manifold gaskets and cats then that is a steal. I had 1100 in mine just for the manifold gaskets. Takes about 10 hours to do them since you have to lift the motor up.

Holy Christ that is a hell of a lot of money, but otherwise if it includes the parts and labour then yes that is a steal. The cats alone should be around $800+ each!
