exhaust dumps before axle
if a guy plans on doing alot of offroading and doesnt want the exhaust behind the axle so it cant get pinched bent in deep mud or snow,
is it going to get ALOT louder in the cab if it just dumps in front of axle? especially if its already a straight pipe exhaust and a little drone already?

My single in dual out muffler rotted out at the outlets. Got the saws all out and cut the muffler off and installed a Magnaflow 3 inch single in and single out with a dump straight off the muffler. the dump wound up being right where the box meets the cab on my Supercrew. It is not noticebly loader from the drivers seat and my kid has not complained of it being noisy in the back seat. My truck had straights on it when i bought. I did'nt like the way it sounded. It was'nt too loud for me just did'nt like the tone. I have got quite a few compliments on the magnaflow. it is quiet at idle and sounds good at cruise but when you trromp on it, it makes some good noise.

I haven't cut the exhaust on my 5.4L yet- but I did cut it off right as it dumped over the axle on my last truck: 07' Toyota Tacoma v6. I mean, I know Taco's don't have a roaring loud engine or anything- but FWIW it did not make it noticeably louder than original.

I got the magnaflow 14" with turndowns right before the axle and dumped right after the muffler. I love the sound, deep when you gas or get on it but at 2K rpm I find I hear the tires humming more then the exhaust in the truck.
