I bought an Edge evolution 15051 and my laptop will not detect it. Is this model obsolete and not able to update or am I doing something wrong?

Hey Adam, can I assume you're talking about the initial update that the instructions for the Edge tell you to do before connecting to your truck? What operating system are you using on the laptop? MACOS, Win7, Win8, etc. The update process can be VERY manual with certain OS.

Edit: As far as I can tell that product is still supported.

I bought it used, so I was wanting to make sure it was up to date. I downloaded the software but my laptop was not recognizing the actual Edge unit. I ended up resetting the Edge to factory specs on the menu button and tuning it to my truck.

I guess what I need to know is if it does not update will it harm my truck in any way?

Does it work on your truck? It has to be set back to stock to update so if the original owner didn't set it back to stock it won't update or work on your truck.

It works on my truck, and works pretty good. I set it back to stock when it was first hooked up to my truck.
