I’d always get the “hex file” message when unplugging the tuner or the battery, just pressing OK would solve that issue. Eventually loading ANY tune would immediately result to in the wrench light and limp mode, cured by returning to stock. I’m assuming that my Edge’s programs became corrupted somehow, much like physically removing a thumb drive from a computer without first digitally ejecting it can corrupt it 1 in 100 times. If you can get yours back to level 0, I’d do it and leave it there.

I have never had this issue, but my Edge CS did die after 2 nights of -15*F when it was in Tune 2. I updated it with Fusion software, as Edge instructed, but still didn't work. They then gave me an option to mail the unit to them for a repair ($75 -80 bucks, I think, which is far less than a new programmer). They sent me a new unit for that with the stock tune loaded on it. No problems since switching back from Tune 0 and Tune 2.

I think you created this problem... like duked said .. all you had to do was hit ok when it gave you that hex file message... I have seen that several times on mine.. been on my truck since new 11 years now. Now that you up dated it before returning to stock you are asking it to retrieve the stock hex file and replace it with a custom one ... level 2, but level 2 is already in your ECU. That produces the error. You may have to have Ford re-load the stock hex file.. or leave it alone on level 2. That's where mine has been for the last 8 years.

provide more info: year/engine truck, model # edge, and whether if ever worked properly on your truck (or if you just got the edge or just got the truck).

2004 Ford F-150 XLT 4.6L 4x4 ik it has a tune in it now. pretty sure a towing tune, but i cant enter the programmer to change anything.
tried to go into fusion software on computer, port is closed and idk why, and when it does work it says i need to return tuning to stock but i cant bc it will freeze every time
