Default rain got into kick panel - truck won't start

During some heavy rains this past weekend my passenger door wasn't shut all the way and water got in.

here's the story-

I drove 250 miles from Detroit to Chicago Sunday night not aware of the standing water for Saturday's rain. After the truck sat for about a full day i was heading out to the store last night to find it would only crank.

I started poking around and pulled the passenger side kick panel finding standing water under the fuse box and in the wiring chase (submerging the harness) back to about the rear door. I wiped up the water and its drying now. Everything seems to be functioning normally electrically, save for the truck not starting.

Its just cranking, as if i was out of fuel. sorry for the long post. Does anyone have any ideas? What potentially could've been damaged from the passenger sill having standing water in it?

Engine relay...its hard to see if a re-lay is good or bad unlike a blown fuse...pull the engine relay out and put a meter to it and check it for proper continuity. It may have shorted out in the water.

You have a diagram on the fuze box cover that tells you location and what it is for...also 1 in your owners manual...your looking for a relay that may be the cause of you truck not starting...ie.. fuel/engine relay...Its not your starter relay because you said it cranks...

I'm no expert, but there's also a gas shut off down there. When I was wiring my sub and put the kick plate cover back on I "tripped" it. The guy said it was set to go off in case of an accident. He reset it so I didn't get a chance to see, but maybe there's something on the forum about it.

i tried pushing the red reset button on the inertia switch, but nothing.

ill check the connections and maybe it wouldnt hurt to pull it and check the continuity.

thanks guys
