Does anyone else run level 3 tune with adjusted settings? I am looking to try something with mine. All I did on mine so far was lightly adjusted shift points and firmness.

I don't know if it makes a difference but I have an 02 with the 5.4. When I try and mess with the timing (1.5) and wot fuel (1.3) my truck bounces rpms at idle. Going from 658-1075. Any ideas???

This is the tune I tried running:

Performance Tune (Level 3) 93 Octane Only
WOT Shift: 1st-2nd 5300; 2nd-3rd 5300; 3rd-4th 5000
WOT Fuel: 1.3
Timeing: 1.5
Shift Firmness: 18-all
Rev Limiter: 5450
Tire Size: 2792mm
Gear 3.55

Now my options dont include the torque converter and my wot fuel only goes up to 1.3... also i tried lowering the timeing -.25 and each time in bounced rpms at idle until my timeing was at 0.0 and my WOT fuel was untouched. I have no ideas whats going on.. my new tune is as follows:

Performance Tune (Level 3) 93 Octane Only
WOT Shift: 1st-2nd 5300; 2nd-3rd 5300; 3rd-4th 5000
WOT Fuel: 1.2
Timeing: 0.0
Shift Firmness: 18- all
Rev Limiter: 5450
Tire Size: 2792mm
Gear 3.55

I am at work now so i cant tell you exactly what it changes to but just wondering is anyonelse has this problem. Only other changes i made are Speed limiter, set to 200 and gear ratio set to 3.55.
I have the same problem with the tire size. It seems to go back to the default size when I change settings.

Just set it the first time messing around learning to use it and from then on just set load previous setting. I was actually adding that info to see if it was a know issue setting that causing the problem.

Creating this post as a stickey would be a good idea, as many agree that a tuner is one if not the best method to wake up an engine, but it would need to be cleaned up. I would think that as a sticky it should have suggested/proven tunes, and less comments/suggestions on "leaving it alone" and the such.

I'll keep an eye on this post. If you want it to be a sticky, I'd delete the posts that do not offer suggested tune parameters. However, I do not want anyone offended that their posts got deleted.

Maybe we should have two then? One for settings and one for questions?

Feel free to edit out all the nonsense. I think having it listed with just settings and results, no discussion or b.s., would be a great sticky

I can do that with SKULL#!'s permission. He's the original poster of this thread.

We want stickys to be for information only posts; no questions, etc. Two posts are fine, but if a question gets asked within a sticky, we delete it and ask the person to post as a "normal" post in the correct forum. This way the stickys stay clean and easy to navigate through.
