Default Edge Evo Fusion Help Needed

I've had my Edge Evolution for a few months now, but just recently decided that I want to try updating it.
After finding a USB cable that would work, I downloaded Fusion from Edge and gave it a try.

The first couple of times I plugged in the Evo, the computer recognized that a device had been plugged in and pulled up the wizard installer. Never got past where it says "connect device to launch..."

So I removed Fusion and re-downloaded it and now my computer won't even find the Evo when I plug it in!
It makes the beeping sound saying that something is plugged in, but then nothing happens.

Any help would be appreciated!

Go to the edge website and dwn load the fusion software, then update your tuner from there! Do not use the disc, the computer does not support the driver for the disc that is provided

That's what I tried. Downloaded the fusion software, but the evolution doesn't connect to the computer.

If you are running Windows 7, go in and set it so the program runs as XP. Had the same issue and had it run the program in a virtual XP machine.

So I just checked on the computer, and if says the system is Microsoft Windows XP. I'm assuming what you suggested wouldn't work in this case?
Not too sure how to set the program to run as under a different setting either. Looked around a little but don't have too much time to mess with it now.

look at this site. It has directions on how to set up virtual XP machine. I had the same issue and when I set up on virtual XP, runs fine.

What program do you need to be able to load custom tunes from PHP onto the Evolution? Pegasus or Fusion?

If you have the edge "gryphon" you have to use pegasus to update it.

Yeah, that's what I have. Okay, thanks.
So I would have no use for fusion anymore?

Do you have an edge CS or CTS? If you don't have either of these programmers, then you do in fact have to run Pegasus.

I've had no problem running fusion on my windows 7 ultimate 64bit OS. Is the 32bit OS giving you the issues?
