Default eBay shorty headers

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/332203595814

Manifolds are cracked, will have to replace them soon. How do these look? Anyone use them?

I know they gotta be straight Chinesium, but still.
I know only long tubes make a power increase, but still...

They gotta sound better than manifolds. :-)

I mean they may sound better but at the same time, as you already pointed out yourself, probably aren't of good quality and probably won't increase performance too much if any.. Personally it sounds like you're settling for what is cheap. You might find yourself replacing them in 6 months and think back to the post and say "I could've spent a bit more and got something good."

I think JBA makes a good bolt in place header that replaces the manifolds and will last.

Or spent just a little bit less on Dorman stockers and fix the truck. ;-)

So, has anyone on this forum ACTUALLY installed and ran a set of these? One of the purposes of the internet forum is too share knowledge and experience, so have at it! (No conjecture is admissable in this thread ;-))

This is really all that has stopped me from buying a set. Some questions get danced around, and no clear answer ever comes.

Speaking of FleaBay and headers. I would like to share a little experience if its worth any value. A kind of buyer beware, you might get what you pay for.

I had purchased a set of longtube headers for my truck, I thought at $400, that was not to shabby for the headers, mid-pipe, and resonators. Upon receiving the headers they looked good, I was actually quiet impressed with the quality, included gaskets, nuts, bolts, etc.

Here is the problem, no way in hell would it have worked. None of the mid-piping could be connected, as in none of the piping ends were tapered to accept connections. Everything would have to of been cut and welded as one unit.

I contacted the vendor to send them back, and told them that they sent me wrong stuff, they tried to play it off as it was for a 2WD, not 4WD, I call bull**** because it would not even fit together. Repackaged it sent to be sent off, low and behold it was "Damaged" when they received it. Was allocated a partial refund.

Sad to say it, but that's a situation that doesn't surprise me.

I'm sure nothing can really be told by looking at the pictures on the auction, but I'd really feel a lot more comfortable about getting something like this if I had TIG welding equipment and skills.
Going this route, you just have to know that some shady git is trying to profiteer off of you. ugh...

It's like a roulette wheel, always bet on (chinese)red...

That is why I prefer Amazon, at least you can ask someone besides the seller questions, and see reviews.

These at least look welded all the way around the flanges.
