Dynotech Headers Installed

Well this weekend I pulled off my stock manifolds, cats, & Y-pipe and installed a set from Dynotech. The difference these headers made in my truck is second only to the blower. I really didn't expect to feel the difference in torque but its there from idle to red line.

I honestly didnt expect to feel any torgue difference when I put my high-flow gibson shortys on but its there and its niiiiiiice. (I am working on a turbo setup in a yr or two depending on money but I so want a whipple too)

How much did your Dynatech headers cost you and where did you get them..?

Are you gonna have a dyno tune to adjust the A/F ratio?

Blown Ford 02-03-2010 08:42 PM

I got them used from a guy who put a 4v 5.4 in his truck. There jet hot coated to. $500. I couldn't resist.

The A/F ratio is fine. I spoke with Mike Troyer and he said no retune would be required. However I am headed to see him shortly for some fuel pumps, a smaller pulley, and retune.

Do those headers bolt up to factory y pipe? I was thinking of adding them unless keeping the stock y pipe and cats would make it pointless

No. They are long tube headers. You will need to order the high flow cats and y-pipe. This system will bolt up to whatever aftermarket system you have or your stock muffler.

Have you cranked out some 0-60 times or anything yet?

Blown Ford 02-05-2010 04:46 PM

Not yet. As soon as we have a decent weekend I'll take it to the track again. I want some solid runs with the headers before I up the boost and change the fuel pumps. I want to see how much they improve my 13.55

RoushNitemare 02-05-2010 04:57 PM

intresting, the roush claims a 13.5 for the nitemare. your trucks a little heavier but should be faster with 427 rwhp and 468lb/ft trq
