So I may buy another AEM and attach the felt from my WIX filter to help seal it.
What issues did you have exactly?

It was letting ice crystals in when the temp was well below freezing and snowing/sleeting. Put me in limp mode 3 times. I ran it with the Gotts mod, so I replaced the intake tube with the factory tube. Still went to limp mode. Switched to a WIX with the Gotts mod and all was good. So it narrowed it to the filter.

I would look at the WIX or Amsoil (most likely have to order Amsoil though).

replaced the PurePro (Chinese Made) air filter yesterday (probably from Firestone) with a new Fram...it appeared nicely made and fit the airbox tighter than the one I removed...I've not read verifiable bad things about Fram air filters anywhere but YMMV...

It lives! The thread lives!! lol I never ended up installing any dry or oiled 'performance' filter. I too am using Fram Extra Guard air filters. They haven't let me down yet.

good to know...I noticed the Fram was heavier, appeared to have more pleats and sealed tighter in the air box than the cheap appearing PurePro...
