Driver seat tear
 
The oh so common tear in the driver side seat. Best repair solution?

Mine has done the same within the last few weeks, Ive been thinking black duct tape. lol As Im not a seat cover person.

Locate an apolstery shop in your area. Removing the seat bottom is not difficult, and they can reinforce/restitch it, plus add some foam to the seat.
My guess is that the stitching has come loose at the section closest to the door, where the driver slides in/slides out? If its the grey cloth, PM me; I have a replacement in good shape.

I took mine to an automotive upholstery shop. Had the seat fixed. 2 holes in a panel on a rer seat, a hole in the carpet beneath the gas pedal, and the console lid covered with vinyl. Looked like new and cost less than $200

needle and upholstery thread have worked great for me.
Not a permanent solution but simple and VERY inexpensive.
