Hmm good info there. So you really wouldn't be too much heavier with the 325's. Have you searched pictures online or on here? (dumb question but i had to ask) I just know the one in town here the tires stick out probably 2'-2.5' past the fender with that size tire and aftermarket wheels..

I've been researching this for a long time. Good thread. I'm looking to switch to OEM 20-inch wheels from the Lariat. They look lovely, but the cost of tires do concern me as well as the added weight. Car and Driver did a plus size test from going from OEM 15, 16, 17 and 18-inch wheels and found out that performance actually suffered significantly. Guess I should just stick to my cheap *** 18-inch FX4s...

I'd like to know how they compare in weight to an aftermarket wheel. I always liked on tirerack how it said what the aftermarket wheel weighs but I never know how to compare it to my stock ones..

I'm running 35x12.5 r20's, they are much bigger then my 275x60 r20's with a notable but not terrible hit on gas milage. Stopping power decreased more then anything, but it was a great trade off IMHO. The ride quality is much much better. The truck handles better, feels more stable at high speeds, rolls over anything including nails and still gets me home at night. The best part of the 35's is obviously the looks, and the worst part is the milage drop. I lost 2 MPG's compared to my last set and I'm running pretty much the heaviest tire in the industry: General Grabber Red Letters. These tires are the best hybrid mud/AT tires I've ever used, and all trade offs aside, I will definitely be picking up a new set when these ones are bald.
PHP edge CS custom tuned, 3.73 gears, 5.4 3v, Volant CAI, bilstein 5100's on a 2.5 level with no rub. (All this helps to turn a 35 well)
At the end of the day, for work and play reasons, I need my truck to be more of a truck then a milage miser.

I don't have nearly half as many upgrades on my truck as yours, but my Ram 1500 is already a thirsty beast that requires 89 octane so I don't want my F-150 to be the same way. Considering how much weight I'm hauling daily, fuel costs are tremendous when operating a small business so I have to keep these costs in mind. I would love to run the Lariat 20-inch wheels, or even the King Ranch wheels look nice as well. But I'd have to settle for my stockers just 'cause it would hit my wallet too hard.

I'm really wanting to drop down from my 35s. Yes, they look awesome but it's just purely for looks as I no longer go 4xing anymore. I don't really care about gas mileage per se, I want power and I know these 35s are taking away HP and torque. I have 3.73 gears, they help move the 35s ok but on the highway I feel my trans hunting gears often. I think I'd be happy with 33. I just have to wait for these tires to wear down but that will be a while, only 12k miles on them.

I've been running my 89 tow tune for over a year solid, with only a $1 - $2 increase on fill ups. 89 is only about 10 cents more then 87. I run my own small property management, and plumbing business and I have yet to see this cut into my bottom line. The upfront costs of mods and tires have been spread out evenly enough over time (with good deals), so I can't say I spent a whole heck of a lot.. Volant was free, tires were $600, wheel well liners were a gift, edge CS and 3 tunes were $450 after selling my free SCT, and the bilsteins were $399 shipped. I'm only about $1500 dollars into my truck with functional mods. I even did all new brake pads and rotors on all 4 sides for $95 bucks with coupon codes stacked on top of sales...
