Default Downshift clunk when going up hill at highway speeds

Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this?

2005 F-150 (5.4 Triton) makes a loud clunk-- feels like hitting an expansion joint for a bridge -- when it downshifts at highway speeds. It's most pronounced when going up hill and stepping on the accelerator.

I've owned the truck for about two years and I think it's always done this but it more pronounced now that I've removed the mud tires. The transmission isn't slipping and seems to shift fine (recently changed fluid/filter).

Thanks!

I had a 2007 that was doing similar. Turned out to be Coils over Plugs. Replaced cops and plugs and it went away.

Was it throwing any codes? I replaced the plugs about 15,000 miles ago but still have the original coils (115,000 miles).
