About a year ago I bought a 2004 supercrew for $1300 . It needed some love but didn't have anything really bad wrong. I've done many little projects on it and have driven it almost 20,000 miles. It's a great truck, AND the wife loves it.
When I told her I was getting ready to sell it, she had a fit and asked me why.
Only real rereason is that its not 4x4.
She said I could only sell it if I got her one "Just Like it but 4x4".
Well, I did, as luck would have it , a young Air Force officer was PCS'ing and NEEDED to sell it ASAP.
Here is pics of the old 2wd perched up on top of the Going to the Sun Highway in GNP.
Now on to my new find.
Here is the ad description;
Great truck, I put a lot of repairs into it. Had a timing job in 2024 to fix the notorious Triton issues, 4WD fixed, lower ball joint replaced, new brakes and rotors in 24, new battery and serpentine belt done last week. Block heater added in 24. AC doesn't blow cold, but heat works great. Looking for 6k OBO.
The description doesn't really don't it justice.
It's been extremely well cared for and just MIGHT stay in my fleet forever.
Not sure what I'll do with these as I'm not a big fan of black wheels but I will probably put them on it this weekend and run them until winter is over.
They have less than 1000 miles on them.
The best part was watching my wife as she was unknowingly getting into a different vehicle but almost exact. She didn't really notice anything different until she got in, she had a harder time because the 4x4 is little taller but stopped in tracks when she noticed the biggest difference.
The 4x4 has the black interior and the 2wd has the tan interior, the darker interior looks WAY better.
She loves it, so far.
You could
Put some 10 ply tires on the spare wheels and use them for off road or hunting
We go hunt Chukars in the west desert of UT
We take 3 spares with us to the Hogup mountains and points South
Last time we went we used all 3
Put the 20" cooper studded snow tires on it just in time for some minor amount of snow.
not sure if I like the look or not.
I don't like how much higher the rear end is compared to the front.
I want to level it but not by raising the front.
Is there an easy way to drop to rear a few inches?
