Are Dorman FPDM's reliable?

I am looking to order an FPDM to keep on hand in case mine decides to die. I have 136k on the truck/FPDM now with no issues, and no noticeable corrosion. But, you know...Murphy's law. Dorman seems to be the dominating brand in this category, but if they're anything like the blend door actuators, they're junk and a waste of money. Can anyone attest to the quality of this particular part? They're half the price of MC.

I think dorman in this is fine.

With that many miles, I'd just order it and replace it. Not all of the corrosion is noticeable. Why wait until it fails on you?

The reason I am waiting is because if the part is junk, I don't want to induce issues. I guess I am following, "If it ain't broke....." However, I want to be ready so I have minimal down time. Part stores here don't stock it readily.

I went ahead and changed mine to dorman

Mine was still working ,Idea was to keep oem for spare. Trouble was the connector I disturbed ,Oem went back and forth over a few days until I removed gasket that had rolled in connector making intermittent connection . Stranded me on very hot days , I crawled under in the weeds and even used my cologne to clean connector.
Wife arrived last time with contact cleaner then later I pulled oring type gasket out . That was years ago dorman still in there.Never sealed connector been thru several hurricanes and sal****er floods .
So yes get that fpdm on standoffs, keep other one under seat . That will stop the corrosion from happening .

I didn’t want to deal with any possible issues. Replaced mine with a new oem one with the stand offs way back in 2011.
