The part I'm talking about is the rubber nub thing that looks like it cups when you shut it. I don't think spraying anything will help that

I think he was talking about the latch for the WD-40, but I also have a problem with that rubber nipple thing. Do you think it needs to be replaced with a new one?

I was looking at mine and it looks fine, just went out and it had the problem once again with closing it. I found that if I hold the outside door handle and close the door it'll shut correctly. It's when I try swinging the door closed that it'll refuse closing unless I slam it. Also it's -10 outside right now too...I don't remember this happening when I got the truck in September so I'm guessing it's related to the cold

Mine does this too. If found if I insert my key into the lock on the door and turn it lock to unlock a few times it helps to free up whatever sticks... I drove one day holding my door shut and that was "no bueno" I actually routed my seatbelt through the arm rest and into the seatbelt clasp to keep my door shut too. The bad thing is u end up sitting on the seatbelt behind your back....

Count me in on this .. I'm gonna try some wd-40 on the latch but I'm guessing when the the temp gets this low , not much is gonna help other then slamming the door .

Mine has done it since new. 06 SuperCab. Always does it when the temp goes below 20. I think it's due to the seals getting stiff. Maybe also having the bottom latch get stiff from the cold. I've tried everything to no avail. Silicone on the seals didn't show any real improvement. Just have to wait till it warms up and deal with the air leaks.

That's what I'm guessing is going on. I started noticing when it was getting 10 degrees or lower...been 0 or lower lately. Never noticed this during the fall

Everything works harder in the cold of course, but i do know that the hinges are pretty weak on these trucks also. They tend to get a little play and sag over time, not allowing the striker to line up properly.
The drivers door obviously would show signs of wear first, being used the most.

Kinda makes sense because I noticed I can shut the door a lot more successfully if I "guide" it with my hand. As in I hold the door from the outside and close it without ever letting go of the handle. It'll usually close if I do it that way. Basically having to push it close with the handle using probably the same amount of force I would use to close it normally (swinging door close and "letting it fly")
