speedometer short. Ford won't acknowledge and also break light on dash. All same issue. Ford recall on break light just disables it

 

I know this is an old thread but i'm sure people are still dealing with this issue with no fix. This fix worked for me today. Finally all lights work as should and the E brake light actually goes off now.

 

I have had the same problem with my dome light coming on, usually a thump on the dash would fix it for a while but lately it was coming on and off several times a night causing my battery to go dead in the morning. I tried everything suggested on this forum, wd-40 on the door latches changing the headlight switch etc. Nothing worked! Finely a friend told me to have the pins floated in the interment cluster because there might a loose connection causing my problem. Sure enough I had the cluster floated and the problem is fixed! I sent my cluster to a place in Denver Colorado called Deluxe Speedometer, 2330 S Kalamath St Denver Colorado 80223 Unit- A. 303-629-6958. It cost $230 for everything which is money well spent to get rid of the aggravation this issue has caused me. Give them a call or visit their
