i have a 2005 f-150 xlt and i want to install keyless entry but i am wondering if every truck comes with the wireing harness behind the back seat for the keyless brain box and wireing in the drivers door for the keypad on the door handle. i work at a salvage yard and i took off the keyless brain box and the keypad door handle off a 04 fx4 that was about to get crushed. im just wondering if this is possible to install in my 05 xlt and wondering if the wireing is already in my truck with nothing hooked up to it. thanks any comments or knowledge on this would be great.

i also managed to snag the radio/climate control bezzle with the climate control unit off the 04 fx4 if anyone is interested let me know its in perfect condition and it will fit the console shifter style only. its a carbon fiber kinda design the stock fx4 style.

Im pretty sure any '04+ with power locks already has keyless entry. Im not sure about the number pad wiring though.

So the wiring should be behind my back seat... So I will have to pop off my door panel and check for door handle keypad wiring. Any other input would be good too thanks

Is it the digital heater controls or dials. I have the carbon fiber with the dials now would like the digital controls. Needs heated mirror switch included.

Im not interested in this for myself, but i thought i would comment to help others out. I did a lot of research on this for my 06 when i was going to upgrade to the auto climate control. IIRC, you need to also swap out the fuse panel, and need the wiring for the temp sensor.


but, for your door keyless code.... if you remove the rear seat back, you will find the module which has a sticker showing the 5 digit code.

i know where the keyless code is and where to find the keyless brainbox behind the seat what i need to know is if my truck has the harness for the keyless brainbox to plug into i got a brainbox out of a diff truck. i have power locks but my truck did not come with a keyless entry option.
