Default do i need to have my truck running when adding freon?

I bought a cheap recharge bottle with the built in gauge today. Do I need to have my truck running with the air on full blast when I recharge it? Also if anyone has a picture of where I connect the recharge kit to that would be great. I have an 05 FX4.

yes you need to have the truck running with the air on. the compressor has to be running to pull the freon into the system. The hose you bought will only connect to the low side line. The high side is a different size.
