Default Do I have the Tow Package?

Hello! New member here!
I just got a 2006 F-150 (RWD, 4.6L, SuperCab, 145 inch wheelbase, 3.73 ratio (B6 axle code)). How can I find out if it has the factory tow package?

I'm considering entering the world of RV Travel Trailers.

Reading the towing spec sheet I should be OK towing up to 6900 lbs, but you really need the Trailer Tow Package or Heavy Duty Payload Package to tow anything over 5000 lbs.

I have a hitch, 4-pin connector, and 7-pin connector. The 7-pin connector has a Ford logo on it.
I was reading that if I have a transmission cooler, then I most likely have the Tow Package.
How can I check for a transmission cooler?
Or is there a way to tell from the VIN or other stickers on the truck?

Thanks, in advance!

Sounds like you have factory towing, but towing or not... Gonna be a slug trying to move that much weight with a 4.6L. Might consider regearing or finding something with more motor to it.

I think that may be the case eventually. Right now, we're going to run with what we've got.

Looks like I may have the transmission cooler.
Note the smaller, silver-colored radiator in front of the main radiator.

Default thats the factory trans cooler- you must have tow -vin should let you know more

You should put a trans drain type pan on trans . Change fluid out 4-5 quarts at a time over a week or so until you run thru about 20 quarts, use only mercon v . you can get it in bulk on Amazon .

You're advocating a transmission fluid flush? Just want to ensure that's the end goal of what you're suggesting.
Note that the truck only has less than 45K miles on it.
