Don't get me wrong here. I think Ford should have recalled and fixed this engine. In the end it may cost them more if this suit can prove that Ford knew and understood the issues.

What I am saying is that with the fix, the 6.0 is a good engine, perhaps a great engine. The power and torque and great and when fixed it can be heavily modded turning it into a muscle truck that will put a huge smile on your face.

In the end purchasing a desiel needs to be well considered as the costs of ownership are significantly higher then its gas brother. I'd love to own one and may still at some point but I cannot get over the maintenance cost right now.

Just for perspective, a friend of mine has a 2004 F250 SuperCab 8' bed with a 6.0. He has had the engine gone through and head studded etc.... The truck has 190K on it, is fitted with 35x12.50/17 (well the metric equivalent I don't recall right now) BFG MT, Ranch Hand brush guard. His is a Lariat with all the stuff, including moonroof. Interior is in much better shape, and body is roughly equivalent to the one you show.

He is considering selling his for $15K.
