Default Disable Annoying Chimes?

I was wondering if anyone out there hates that stupid chime you hear when you leave the keys in the ignition as much as I do. Also, the seatbelt chime is another one that really bothers me. I am looking to somehow disable these two annoyances, but wouldn't know where to start. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!

There's one out there for the seatbelt chime that's something like... turn the key on then insert and release the seatbelt 10 times. I still can't get it to work. I'm starting to look for the actual chiming device so I can smash it.

My 06 was already disabled when I got it but there is a thread on here somewhere that tells you how to do it. But like rockmtnrider said you can just cut the wire on the chimer if you find it, thats what I did on my 2000

So I followed the links through to the procedure and I was able to get results... but maybe not the results listed. On the instructions here:

http://www.justanswer.com/ford/0t8a4...lt-dinger.html

where is says:

The beltminder activation or deactivation is confirmed by the following sequences:
If the beltminder is enabled, this procedure disables the beltminder for that specific seating position. The safety belt warning indicator lamp flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds to confirm that the deactivation procedure was successful.

When I did this it confirmed with the airbag light flashing 3 times, NOT the safety belt warning indicator lamp. Has anyone else done this yet and what results did you get?

yeah my airbag light flashed and not the safety belt warning indicator lamp...

also, do you need to disable both driver and passenger to disable the chime? if you only disable the driver, would you still get the chime if it wasn't done on the passenger side??

The post says they're independent of each other. I only disabled the passenger because a lot of my friends don't wear seat belts. I left the drivers side on to help me keep my seat belt on.

Turn off Safety-Belt Chime

The driver and front passenger Belt-Minder feature can be deactivated by performing the following procedure.

Before following the procedure, make sure that:

* The parking brake is set
* The gearshift is in P (Park)
* The ignition switch is in the off position
* The driver and front passenger safety belts are unbuckled

1. Turn the ignition switch to the on position. Do not start the engine.
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (approximately 1 minute)

* Step 3 must be completed within 30 seconds after the safety belts warning light turns off.

3. For the seating position being disabled, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt 3 times, ending in the unbuckled state.

* After step 3, the restraint system warning light (airbag light) will be turned on for 3 seconds.

4. Within approximately 7 seconds of the light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.

* This will disable the Belt-Minder feature for that seat position if it is currently enabled. As confirmed, the restraint system warning light will flash four times per second for 3 seconds.
