Default A different kind of Retrofit!

So, I got the idea to do a retrofit in my 04 F150. I've only seen one other one that is similar to mine, but not exactly the same. It's also not completely done yet.

Still have to fiberglass the gaps around the base of the light to match body lines. I am not going to put the glass back on. I plan on getting a 4" led fog light for the other spot. Turn signals are built into the 7" leds and will add a LED strip between metal and plastic insert on the bumper thats hidden except when lit.

Will post more pics as I progress

I was going to something similar but have the switchback bulbs for signals and they are bright in the white/running mode..using them as my daytime running lights actually.. Nice work looks great!

The 7" were ordered off Amazon warehouse deals for $65.

Rest was done by me modifying the stock housing.

So I've been mulling this over and my biggest concerns are heat dissipation and visibility of your turn signal.

So without glass I think you'll have better heat dissipation due to the wind at least hitting the front, however most of the heat generated should be at the heatsink, in the back, where air doesn't move all that well. Because of the air dams from your intake cutout on the bumper, there's not going to be a lot of air movement through there. You'll have to keep us apprised of longevity.

For your blinker, though, I feel like if you stick a bucket on there you're going to be cutting visibility of it from the side. Something to keep in mind when designing whatever bucket you're going to stick in place.
