Difference in tires....?
Anyone know the difference between these 2 tires? They are both Nitto Terras
*305/55R20 120S $290 ea LT305/55R20 E121S $318 ea LT Tires with an "E" load range have a 10-ply rating. *Indicates Extra Load (XL) does anyone know the XL ply rating? I have a 2006 Lariat SupCrew any words of wisdom? :help: |
Ride will be slightly rougher with the LT tire, as the tire is stiffer due to the extra plies. If you tow heavy loads, maybe some advantage there too, otherwise, save your money.

I am going to guess here one is the old model and one is the new model... Look at the DOT date code... it will read as 20-10 which means 20th week 2010 you will probably find the LT monogram a more current model than the not marked LT.... but I am just guessing....

LT may stand for "Light Truck" and if that's correct then the LT's will last longer

I am not sure how the sidewall plays a roll in this... LT markes tires E load range are 10 ply with 4 ply sidewall
Not marked LT are more than likely 8 ply with 4 ply sidewall, but could be as low as 6 ply with 4 ply sidewall.... all have 4 ply sidewall so i am not sure how it it makes the sidewall stiffer.. But I am old and it has been awhile since I sold tires.... |
