diff and transfer oil
what is everyone usuing for differential and transfer case oil I have the 3.73 limited slip gear ratio with the factory tow packadge.

Rear diff 75W-140 Mobil 1. Front diff 90W.. transfer case takes mercon V... Don't forget friction modifier for the rear limited slip.

Yes, they now make a T-Case fluid, but I've been changing with the originally spec'd Mercon-V...and no boom.

At advance auto they have the Valvoline Tranfer case fluid, which says right on the bottom for uses in Ford trucks originally specked for mercon or something to that effect. I've used in in 2 of my trucks. No issues

And I'm sure there's a reason for it, but 200k miles, two changes using MercV, no boom lol

I did the 75-140 with the additive in my edge and I still have some left over and since this truck is new to me I plan on going through and changing all fluids because I plan on keeping it for a long time. thanks for all the replys
