Default Diehard Platinum Battery:

All I can say is WOW what a difference vs my OEM Motorcraft 535amp battery!! My truck would crank with the Motorcraft battery, but it seemed to always struggle or just turn over slow. I replaced the OEM battery when it went flat after the 10 minutes it took to replace the front speakers!

Even before it died after 10 minutes with the radio on. My truck never started what I'd call strong. I honestly thought I had a weak starter until I swapped out the battery.

I participated in dozens of battery debate threads on Jeepforum, so when it came time for my Jeep needing a new battery I also wanted the Die Hard Platinum. but sadly I found out that they are made in china..... so I found an alternative

http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...0423&ppt=C0005

made in Pennsylvania. very similar power. and the same warranty as the Die Hard.

oh, did I mention its 80 bucks cheaper?

Not a bad find. I was going to stick an Optima in my Ford (have one in my 05 Rubicon it's a 5 year old yellow top and it's still going strong) but I wasn't going to modify the battery holder for the 34 Group vs 65 Group.

I had a battery like that one you found in my 04 Grand Cherokee, and I had some weird problems with 2 of them. I got a third replacement and it worked okay, but it started acting weird again so I replaced it with an Interstate and no more problems.

I thought the diehard platinum was made by Odyssey batteries in the USA? I don't know- but I had that same question and that's what I was finding. I hope it is.

I have a Caterpillar battery. 3 year free replacement warranty plus I work for a Cat dealer so I get them for cost.
