Default Which oil will cure my vibrations!!

So I have read on here about the vibrations caused by the limited slip rear end clutches, and I believe that is the cause of my vibes. It all started when I got mildly stuck pulling my camp trailer and the limited slip was put to use. Immediately after that my vibes started. Which oil can I use to help this problem. I know I need friction modifiers, but can I use a high end synthetic like Royal Purple as long as it has friction modifiers in it? Please give me the recipe cause I'm tired of these vibes.

Thanks a ton.

The oil type really doesn't matter as far as the chatter. The breakdown of the factory fill friction modifiers causes it, and new oil should change that no matter what it is. Personally I think RP is overpriced, there's nothing special about it. Get the correct weight of gear oil and get Motorcraft friction modifier and you'll be good.

Use a good synthetic, and get 2 bottles of friction modifier from Ford parts. Add one bottle, if not enough, add another 1/2 bottle. If not enough, add rest of 2nd bottle. In other words, one is probably not enough.

Friction modifier X2, Royal Purple.......short of being to expensive for my tastes the only thing they claim is that you do not need friction modifier, even though if I used it I would add the Motorcraft friction modifier. When you pull the cover, think about getting one of those aluminum aftermarket covers that allows you to hold more gear oil and is finned for cooling purposes! Happy wrenching and have a good day!

Great idea. Would you happen to have name brand or website to get one? I'm going to do mine soon.

Approx. 17 minutes into this video he tells you what brand of cover he uses, and shows the install. Make sure you get a cover that will fit your rear end. A few F150 videos, good material.

Thanks for the help guys. This is on my list of things to get done soon. I hope this fixes my bad vibrations.

Can I just buy the friction modifier from a ford dealer? or the local auto parts store?

Thanks again.

Sorry guys/gals.................
http://www.motorz.tv/blog/2668/ford-f150-gear-swap/
like i said, about 17 minutes in. Good video to watch, adds the name for the cover and the lube change. He does use Royal Purple, but it's not necessary. Sorry again, had a personal accident and my mind wasn't right.
Bucko, is it ok for me to reference video's like this?
