Default "death" wobble???

This Saturday I was driving between 65-70 mph on a dry smooth limited access highway. I did not hit anything, no expansion joints or bridge plates, just smooth as silk road. All of a sudden the front end started to vibrate, and it got so bad the windshield wiper arms were bouncing. No control issues, was traveling straight and the truck was not pulling either way. I got off at the next exit and drove on secondary roads no wobble. got out and did a visual inspection, all good.

I drove another 150 mile on city, secondary and highway up to 70 mph, no problems. yesterday the same, no problems. never any probs like this since I got the truck 4 years ago.

The truck is a 2005 4x4 5.4 screw. no lift, optional stock tires with no abnormal wear.

I am going to do nothing now and see if it happens again. I will check for loose front end parts. If I find anything, what brand parts are you folks using?? Moog, Ford, AZ (Duralast) etc. Also any thoughts on what might be going on.

Thanks, Bernie

check ur stab links and ball joints, tie rod ends.

Other than that, a broken head or belt in a tire. Maybe check ur tires for any lumps?

Mechanic inspected front end yesterday, needs all ball joints and tires. And of course an alignment. Truck is used on road only, no towing, occasionally a heavy load once or twice a year.

Looking for input on parts and tires. Tire general ht 60 grabber all season mud snow, not 10 ply. Front end kit medvotech #58765560n from Rock Auto.

Thoughts and thanks, Bernie

I would not get a front end kit. Those are usually cheap parts that’ll wear out fast. Get oem or Moog. You have to get the parts piece by piece. There are only kits for the cheap stuff.
