Default Dealership quote for spark plug change! 05 5.4

I was just quoted by the dealership for a sparkplug change and it is going to be $209.00 plus $80.00 for every plug that breaks. I cant believe that I have to pay for thier sh** engineering. The price doesnt sound bad unless they break more than one or two. Does this sound right to everyone else?

And does this not **** anyone off but me. I have to pay for their mistake? If you have you car painted and there is running or bad spots, do you pay them to sand it and repaint it again? It you have your oil changed and they strip your oil plug threads, do you pay them to put a new oil pan on?

The answer is he** no, but I know one thing, if I feel the high hard one from Ford, (truck is paid off) I am going to put this on my discover and cancel payment while I roll out the lot until they fix the price.

OK, I feel better now. I probably won't, but I'm still pissed!!!

that sounds exactly what they were going to charge me, except it was 309 to start out plus 90 for the broken ones. i ended up calling a friend that works at a dealership so he could ask the tech there how much he would charge and he only charged me 70 bucks. i was a little skeptic at first since it was at a chevy dealership but he did a great job, none broken and it runs great.

My dealer just quoted me $180 labor Plus the cost of the plugs AND they'll charge extra if any break, because "That's the nature of the beast"...

i was quoted 360 plus 120 for the first plug and 80 for the second and they slowly go down but the total price of worst case scenario was 860 or something like that

surely there is an attorney out there that has filed a class action lawsuit over this issue, if not we need to find one the ones that are always on advertising to help you get the big bucks or you don't pay....

Sounds like a plan, but have to get hundreds if not thousands of peeps involved for it to be effective.

Default Do it your self

Get the lisle tool (works great) and do it your self! Cost of plugs and the tool is under $200! Make sure to follow the TSB to the letter! Be patient!

I will never pay a dealer to remove my plugs atleast not at those prices. **** as shady as some poeple are they could just say they broke a few plugs and charge you extra. I would say make sure you get a set price no matter if they break or not. otherwise do it yourself. Just be patient and get the lisle tool and make sure your next plugs are welded and not crimped.
