Default Painting Grill

Hey guys, I am new here, just bought a 06 lariat f 150. Its black with mat black racing stripes.

It came with a chrome roush grill, but I am thinking about painting it black. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this.

I had a 02 Harley f150 that I didnt do a single thing to, so I would like to do some sort of work on my new rig.

Just want to know what you guys think on how it would look. I also would like to get the black back head lights.

Scott

EDIT: Here are pics of my truck, shes a little dirty, but what do you think would look good?

It would be far easier to buy a matte black grille and paint that vs stripping off the chrome or painting over it (neither one would be easy and probably wouldn't look good in the end)

I was going to take the grill off, and paint it, not paint it on the truck....

You can paint chrome, you just have to take your time in the prep steps. I know it involves sanding and all that fun stuff. I can't go into details as I have not done it. Hopefully someone will chime in and give you some better steps.

It will depend on the material of the grille. If its metal, you will need a metal primer after you sand the area down. If its plastic, then you should get plastic primer after sanding the area down. But its doable.
