Dash Brake Light - ON
#11
I just did this. I resoldered all of the surface mount resistors around the plug on both sides of the pcb. I also resoldered all the pins on the plug. So far light is off when it's supposed to be.
Nothing was visually suspect so I just did them all.
The millage and some options are stored in the cluster. I would give another shot at fixing yours.
I think you can get those stepper motors on eBay if that one won't go back together.

After my amateur attempt to repair the circuit board, I sent the cluster off to a speedo shop.
Quote was $120.00 over the phone. They will most likely have to replace at least one stepper motor and make more secure connections.
I'll post the results once I have it back and installed.
Good Luck, L.M.

The Final Solution................
The instrument cluster came back today and I installed it. Everything appears to be functioning properly. I don't have time to drive the truck to town to make sure the temp gauge works (I had it running for a little bit and the gauge started coming up) and to insure the cruise control works.
I'll be sure to post if there are any further issues.
