O today during rotating my tires I noticed there was grease all over and then I did myself alittle research and there's a tiny like tiny little hole in the robber peice what can I do to add more grease or what do I do to fix it or is it ok I just want alittle input on what you would do.

Either buy a new cv axle for like 100 bucks, take it out and reboot it. Plenty of videos on how to do it

Personally id buy a new one as cheap as they are

X2 on replacing the axle. If it slung enough grease out, there may be some damage to the joint that you won't be able to see.

either way it has to come out.. agree just replace it..

Can I drive on it until the spring?

If you can't fix it properly right now. Clean the area around the hole on the boot then cover it with some rtv

You can tell when youz drove on it too long when either

A the boot finally breaks open...

B Starts clicking when turning

But if im nkt crazy the cv axle on our trucks aren't rotating all the time only when in 4wd.. so your fine for now

Like stated buy a new CV shaft when you can.

I bought an OEM Ford one for $250, but you can get aftermarket for under $100. Forget about replacing the boot only it's a PITA I tried it you need to disassemble the entire shaft, I gave up.

IF I had to do it all over again, I'd probably just get the aftermarket because for 90% of driving your in 2WD, and the CV shaft doesn't even spin...........

The only thing I could think is it could be my leveling kit I put on before the snow flew and then I had to throw it into four hi acouple times this winter already? I'm running a 2.5 rcx
