Canned tune was nice, better shifting, more responsive
From there I went to the 89 Performance custom tune
Much better, even better then canned
If you are going to spend $$ on a Tuner I see no point in not buying Custom tunes

I won't be trying the 93 Tune until warm weather & Winter gas is gone

So it being a Mustang means it needs to be more thorough? The truck's PCM has more going on than the Mustang does.

To me its just as important. My truck cost more than my Mustang, don't see why I would treat it differently.

Just my opinion.

Just got my SCT. If you program your vehicle with the Livewire without selecting a custom tune, you're using a canned tune. It looks like it's not as obvious on SCTs as it is on Edges and Diablosports. By entering the "Program" tab, selecting your vehicle and Octane rating, you're using SCT canned tune for that set-up, and from there you can adjust some parameters. It was a little confusing for me too, because on most tuners I've seen when you're using a canned tune, you still select Performance, Towing, or Economy. Not on SCTs, apparently. It didn't even give me an option for Economy. Not that I'd use it anyway.

Sorry, wordy answer, I hope that answered your question.

Mustang = Sports car

Truck = Truck...Big heavy brick

I don't take a Mustang off road to 4WD

I don't really know what that means in relation to the tune for the engine.

I guess where I'm coming from is I feel like having a base custom tune to get you started, and then data-logging that tune and re-sending in for final adjustments to make sure its right is what I would want.

Truck, Car, Bike, whatever the usage.... I want it right.

I think when I get a tuner for my 07' XL, I'll probably see if the guy who is doing the tune for my GT will do one for the truck too.
