Default Custom Solobaric subwoofer box

Well this has been a project I've been planning since I bought the truck 3 months ago.

I built this custom box out of 3/4" MDF scraps that a friend had in his garage. I designed it to allow for .77 cubic ft which is exactly what the subwoofer that I'm using recommends.

I'm using a 8" Kicker Solobaric L7 2011 model and a Kicker ZX300.1 amplifier that I got off eBay for $249. The amp also comes with a remote volume control ****.

Forgot to mention that I mounted the amp off of the seat bracket and suspended with metal brackets I got from Home Depot to allow for airflow above and below the amp

I'll write them up and post them tomorrow. This box is specifically designed for this sub so unless you plan on using the same one it might not work properly. I would have just bought a box but they didn't make one that fits

Nice job. Ques is wouldn't a single 10 round get better bass than a 8 solo baric. Or would 2 10s. Perform better .. I'm comming from a band pass with 2. 12s

What do you mean when you say "better bass"? If you mean how loud the sub is, that could be determined by a lot of different factors. 2 10s would probably in most cases be louder than 1 8. The reason I went with the solobaric 8 is mostly because I wanted clarity in my bass instead rattling my door panels loose ( although it does rattle my mirrors to the point I can't see out of them very good if it's turned up). I mostly listen to rock so I like a more realistic sound. I'm not sure if it's the square design or the structural design of the speaker that gives it such a clean sound. The square design does have more surface area than a conventional round speaker which in turn moves more air. Another determining factor was that it requires a smaller amount of airspace leaving more legroom and I didn't have to move the seat.

Here is where I picked up the sub and amp
