Cruise Issue - Empty connector under driver dash

And fyi - yours might not have the servo... I think this stopped in 2004... based on the comment from someone:
2004 ( New body style ) and newer are all throttle by wire and do not have a speed servo control.

cruise is controlled by the pcm on this truck, no servo as mentioned. being it has been a couple years, your truck may have had recall 05s28 done. on the master cylinder
there should be what looks like an oil pressure sending unit--top front. it may have
a harness attached with one or 2 fuses inline. check those if it has this jumper harness. If no harness or even with if the fuses are good the switch may have failed
I think it is normally closed. ck with an ohm meter, (across the switch terminals with
it unplugged) either will be like 0-3 ohms or open. have someone step on the brake
pedal, while watching the meter. does it change to the opposite? if not that switch
is bad. it also is pretty cheap. and I also think it should have continuity until the
brake pedal is pushed the it should go open.

The empty plug you found under the dash next to OBII port is for electric trailer brakes. You don’t see a cruise indication on the cluster untill you hit set ! Cruise on/off does nothing on the cluster.

I've tried pressing ON, then SET, but it does nothing -- no light and doesn't stay at selected speed.

Doesn't look like the plug for trailer brake controller to me. Could be but mine was facing to the side not up and down like that but that really doesnt mean anything.

It could be on the bottom front of the master also. should be one on the
side going into the reservoir, that is for fluid level sensor, the other one
will be screwed into the aluminum body, this is the cruise deactivation
switch.
