Cruise Control Not Working 04-08 F150
Hey everyone, first off this website is awesome! Anyways, my 2006 F-150 Regular Cab 5.4L with 4.10 gears all stock is having a huge problem the cruise won't work. I am lucky enough to own a diagnostic computer that you plug into the truck to check stuff out and there are no error codes what so ever on the truck, I even drove the truck on the high way with the computer connceted testing the buttons to see if they were working. It shows the signal of me pushing any of the cruise control buttons IS getting to the computer but does nothing. I have checked all of the fuses! Please help!!!!! Thank you!

Devil's advocate
Common problem. The only fix is to replace the switches. However, here's what works for me. To set the cruise, I have to press coast! That's how it's been since I owned the truck and it always works. Try that, I'm curious if that works for you too.

I have read that somewhere else before I tried it and nothing...Wish it was that easy! There is one thing left I can check when I get back to my truck on tuesday. Which would be the cruise on/set switch on the brake pedal.

Do you have the feature where the door locks automatically engage at 5 mph, or so? Does it work? If not, your brake lights might also not be working. I had all those issues - no cruise, no auto door lock in motion, no brake lights (didn't know about that part until someone rolled down their window and yelled at me in traffic!).
The fix for me was to clean and lube the brake switch 13480 in the following diagram:
Once I opened it, it was obvious that, at some point in the truck's history, a large amount of current had passed through the switch, charred the contacts, and melted some nearby plastic. Hope this helps.
BTW, Mine wasn't throwing any OBDII codes, either. I have an 06 screw with the 5.4 and 151k miles. It started out as an intermittent problem that became more persistent over the period of three months.

Awesome! But i hope
I went by the dealer yesterday and one of the tech guys checked all of the common problems and they all checked out good and he even plugged in his computer to check it out and it shows it is working just fine. So he told me to just bring it in on monday and they will work on it and diagnose it and I will have my truck back same day.
