Crazy rough idle, water in oil, help lol.
 

For the longest time I had a ignition coil C code and a crazy rough idle which led me to throw in the hat and buy a new 2013 (love my new truck)

But the old gals still sitting in my back yard waiting to be fixed. It's a 2004 xlt 2wd with the 4.6

I finally managed to get rid of the #3 coil code by running a wire from the battery directly to the coil, yet the intensely rough idle persists.

Through toque I'm getting b1317 and b1352 and a lean bank 1 code.

The oil is almost white there's so much water in it so I've stopped troubleshooting until I can get some head gasket sealer and new oil in there.

For whatever reason the misfire pids are the only ones that don't work for me with the torque app so I have no way of telling if there is an actual misfire.

So far I've cleaned the maf, cleaned the throttle body and ran seafoam through the intake, ran fuel treatment, replaced the fuel filter and air filter.

Torque is so extremely limited and misses so much compared to forscan with my new truck so I really can't tell where the problem is coming from but it feels like it's running on 5 cylinders.

The coolant leak isn't really bad, I'm losing about an ounce a day and the smoke coming from the exhaust is hardly visible.
(coolant leak fixed with bars professional, coolant level hasn't dropped not one ounce after about 8 hours idling - highly recommend the stuff)

Could a leaky head gasket cause a rough idle like this? manifold gasket?

Additional info: I'm certain there's a collapsed lifter because it's ticking nice and loud. Oil pressure looks good according to my instrument cluster.... so I got that going for me... which is nice...
(changed oil after confirmed the coolant leak was fixed, used 5w30 for the first time in the trucks life and the lifter noise is completely gone, not a trace)

I know this is a wall of text but any input is highly appreciated.
(The truck idles pretty nice now, but there's still crazy hesitation and vibration when accelerating. It's not a vacuum leak, not a maf, throttle body or fuel delivery issue - I have no idea what it is and don't care to troubleshoot it anymore. Selling truck on CL for $1500)

I think I explained this to you in another thread and you got frustrated with me. The Misfire PID does not work on these trucks. You must run a mode$6 test and it will tell you exactly which cylinder is misfiring.

Sorry but I can't help much on any of the other stuff but it sounds like you're on the right track with the watery oil and the head gasket sealer.

Why don't you pull spark plugs until you find the one or more that looks different? If the coolant isn't leaking from the outside then it's leaking in to a cylinder, probably causing the 5 cylinder feeling.

Cleaned up. The first part from BareBones is good advice. The rest is just back and forth. I told you how to do the scan in the other thread. It will show misfire counts. If it's 0 then there are no misfires.

It doesn't seem to be working for me. All test results say "test incomplete or dependent test failed" and just refreshes over and over.

How long does it normally take you to get readings once it's at operating temperature?

All the tests are saying that? Do you have the Extra Ford pids installed? Do any of the other pids work? I've never seen all the tests fail.

You've never met my truck lol. It was at about 140 degrees when I started the test, got up to temp pretty quick and I let it sit there for about 20 minutes at operating temperature and it refreshed about 10 times.

My truck is posessed. This morning it was over heating, the ac stopped working and the heater wouldn't blow hot.

Now it's idling at temp no problem, ac blows ice cold again and heater is a flame thrower.

Starting to think I should donate this truck to google, we might have our first artificial intelligence on our hands.

Edit: no custom pids, just loaded the ford ones.

Hmm, maybe @F150Torqued can help. He knows more about Torque Pro than anyone else I know. Very knowledgeable guy. Wait and see if he can tell you why all your tests are coming up incomplete.
