Default Cracked valve cover

Went to replace spark plugs and ignition coils yesterday and I noticed this crack in valve cover on drivers side. When I go to replace the valve cover should I look into repairing anything else at same time? I ended up waiting on replacing the plugs since the valve cover needs to come off anyway. Here are some pictures that shows the crack. Can I do something temporary until I can pull it apart? It’s my only vehicle right now. Oh, and it is currently not leaking any oil
Thanks!

If it isn't leaking I wouldn't worry about it until you get the part. What year is it? How many miles?

OK, I was gonna suggest the VCT's, but you can change the 04's with the valve covers on.

You can slather some JB Weld on that crack.. I used to work in a HD's Rental dept and we repaired cracked blocks in some of our rental equipment engines with it. Never had one leak or fail in the 8 years I worked there.

Variable Camshaft Timing solenoid. There's one for each bank and it runs on oil pressure to adjust timing. I just had to replace mine on bank 1. This video shows where they are,
I wouldn't replace them the way this guy did though, I pulled the valve cover cause I was scared to drop something.

It is nerve wracking for sure, but due diligence saves hours of work (including having to dump the AC to remove the passenger side VC). I duct taped the T27 and the extension together to avoid the headache; if I was doing this on the regular, I'd get an extra set of tools and weld them together, as a long 1-piece was difficult to find.

Default Very good maint to replace vcts

Seals a bit tough but worth doing . New ones a better design . Clean engine out good first. Drivers side valve cover contains pcv baffle take off and clean real good . Patch crack should be fine .Nothing wrong with changing vcts in place just be careful with your torx tip ,tape it on .

Yeah... my AC blows super cold now though, guess being forced to recharge the AC after the VC removal took care of something I've been procrastinating.
