I have a 2007 FX4 F150 with a 5.4. This has been a good rig. Though this is the first year we have been below 0° outside for a week. Average about -12°. This morning, I started it up via remote start and it started fine. I unplugged the engine heater and put in the key and I noticed my check engine light was on. It hasn't turned off, nor has it acted odd. But I wonder if anyone else in sub zero temp run into this?
Pull the code and post it up. Without that code that is causing the CEL we'd just be guessing. I bet with that code we can point you in the right direction.
That sucks. Do you have an Android phone or tablet? If so this is the best $25 to $30 Ive ever spent. It can pull/reset codes, and monitor quite a few real time points.

We have a NAPA, but No one with a chip reader. I don't have a spare6 hours to spend on the road. I was hoping someone else here ran into this problem. I am thinking a sensor got ice covered. I was traveling. Through some really cold temps in icy weather.
There's really nothing that should be "ice covered", per se.
Have you tried just pulling your negative cable for awhile? It should clear and then if it comes back, you can start being concerned. It could be a gas cap vacuum code for all you know.
NAPA sells OBD II readers... they may even have one to loan or will read it for you.. but, like elricfate stated.. you can re-set your own DTC by dis-connecting the battery for a few. Of course you will never know what it was...
