Cold air intake worth it?

One issue to keep in mind is the oil from most cai filters can gum up parts down the line. Try finding a dry filtered cai over oiled filter

Been Around!
K&N FIPK CAI is worth every penny
I have been a hot rodder since 1979 and have worked/drove/raced cars and trucks and used double pumpers up to current fuel injection. And for an aftermarket upgrade, on an otherwise stock vehicle, the looks and performance of a K&N setup cannot be beat. No way I would keep that monster factory air intake with a very restrictive filter design if you can afford better.
I bought a K&N Intake and it was well worth it, made a noticable power difference and now when I step on the gas it kinda grunts down with a sweet growl and you can feel the power. Def a worth while upgrade, I have put many aftermarket intakes on various vehicles from cars to trucks but I was extremely impressed with the K&N on my 04 F150!

If you live in NC I'll meet you and give you my K&N for your stock intake :-)

Thing I can't get past regarding some of the cold air intakes systems I see, is that none of my vehicles (truckless at this time) make noticeably more horsepower on 40degree days than they do on 90degree days. That's a 50 degree delta in ambient temps, and their airboxes all duct to just behind the grills.

Ya I'm thinking the dry filters are better. I'd go with the k&n but I'm looking to get a boxed one so I don't get water or mud in it
