Coils

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with their f150 2006 model ignition coils..mine doesn't do it all the time..but it's almost like it has bad gas..I'm sure it's not the trans because it keeps pulling when it does it..but it will hesitate then sounds like it wants to backfire..thanks for your input

O ya meant to add never throws any codes and check engine light has never came on..but jut from working at a dealership..it was a jaguar dealership..I know that some of the jags would come in with a rough idle and that was normally the issue..they never had codes or lights on..and most people know that they were made by ford

I have a 2007 and last week I had to replace 2 of my ignition coils. Next month I'm going to get the other 6 replace because I can't get them cheap and installed for next to nothing.

COPs are fickle creatures. Even the most reliable ones can fail and pretty much everyone who keeps their vehicle for a longer period of time has to deal with them. Just remember, don't get caught up in "perfomance" COPS (they don't add anything, go for reliability) and moisture is the enemy (use dielectric grease).

Ya I only have 81k miles..what coils do you guys recommend? Should I stay with oem? Think I should go ahead and change plugs as well?

I did plugs at 100,000 and I stuck with OEM motor craft plugs didn't have any issues with them either but I have the 4.6 so I heard there are
More issues with the 5.4 with there plugs. The coils I stuck with OEM too

Visteon and Motorcraft are some of the most reliable out there. Should be able to find Visteon cheaper on the internet than Motorcraft at the dealer and they are pretty much the same things.
